Duo Lua
About us
The violin duo Lua was officially founded in Bremen in 2020 and consists of the sisters Aida and Lucía López Borrego from Seville (Spain). Musically trained in Spain, Holland and Germany, it is fair to say that they have been playing together all their lives!
In 2021, the year of its official inauguration, they played at the Wilhelm Wagenfeld House and on the Domshof grounds as part of the Bremen Summer of Culture. They were also allowed to open the exhibition „Six Fingers of a Hand“ in Rothenburg ob der Tauber with two concerts.
They also frequently play together in various ensembles such as the Konsonanz chamber ensemble, where they performed as a duo in the „Klingende Steine“ project at the Ostertorwache documentation site.
From 2022 onwards, the duo Lua will perform numerous concerts with different programmes from its repertoire in various venues, such as the palaces in Spremberg, Hornow or Celle, the Villa Ichon or the Pusdorf House of Culture in Bremen or the monastery in Cottbus.
They regularly include concerts in old people’s homes, such as Johanitter in Bremen, Ambulantis in Cottbus or hospice in Niesky, in their concert calendar. They also emphasise the role of children in their concerts, with concert formats for the whole family or workshops for music students.
Since 2025, they have been part of the OpusM platform (https://opus-m.de/profile/concerts) with their programme ‘The Dialogue of Violin Duos’, offering private concerts in Bremen, Bielefeld, Berlin or by prior arrangement. Are you interested?
